By Jason Schaefer At approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, a traffic accident involving four vehicles occurred at the corner of Sixth and Main streets in Taylor. Juanita Hernandez, 45, a resident of Taylor, was driving westbound on Sixth Street in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup, and failed to yield right-of-way at a stop sign on the corner of Sixth and Main, according to a Taylor Police Department incident report. Hernandez entered the intersection and collided with a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Werner Dally of Taylor, 84, who was traveling northbound on Main Street. According to the report, Hernandez’s vehicle continued through the intersection and struck a 1988 Ford four-door sedan driven by Maria Jimenez, 52, of Elgin, which was stopped at the traffic sign on the east side of Main Street. Hernandez’s vehicle continued still and struck a 2006 Nissan pickup parked in the Temple College at Taylor parking lot. The owner, Zachary Wilkins, 20, of Taylor, was later notified, according to Taylor PD captain Don Georgens. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, but Emergency Medical Services transported Hernandez to the hospital after she reported to police she was having a diabetic reaction. Hernandez’s vehicle, along with Dally’s and Wilkins’, were towed from the scene.
