Texas A&M honors

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M University has named its honor students for the summer 2008 semester, recognizing them for outstanding academic performance.

The Dean‘s Honor Roll recognizes students taking at least 12 semester hours during the summer semester who have maintained a 3.75 or higher grade point (GPR) out of a possible 4.0.

Among those students from Eastern Williamson County named to the Dean’s Honor Roll were:

  • Jessica Lynn Pekar of Granger, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies.

  • Dustin James Naivar of Taylor, a senior majoring in ag leadership and development

  • Bradley Keith Perrin of Taylor, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies

    A second designation, Distinguished Student, recognizes those who earned a 3.5 to 3.74 GPR while taking at least 12 hours for the summer semester.

    Ashton Andrew Teague of Taylor, a senior majoring in construction science, earned distinguished student honors.


    Texas A&M graduates

    COLLEGE STATION - Diplomas were awarded to 1,764 Texas A&M University graduates during summer commencement ceremonies.

    Among those students from Eastern Williamson County graduating were:

  • Dayton Austin Dabbs of Taylor, who was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial distribution

  • Jessica Lynn Pekar of Granger, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.

  • Bradley Keith Perrin of Taylor, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.


    Thelen

    ALBANY, N.Y. - Elizabeth Traci Thelen of Thrall has earned an Associate of Science degree in nursing from Excelsior College.

    Excelsior College (www.excelsior.edu) is an accredited, private, nonprofit institution that focuses on the needs of working adults. Its primary mission is to increase access to a college degree for adult learners, providing working adults multiple avenues to degree completion that include its own online courses and college-level proficiency examinations, and the acceptance of credit in transfer from other colleges and universities.

    Excelsior’s degree programs in nursing are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. The School of Nursing has been designated a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing.
