Lady Ducks stay perfect

ELGIN — Chastity Douglas’ 21 points was nearly enough to outscore the Elgin Lady Wildcats entire team.

Fortunately other Taylor Lady Ducks contributed on offense and Taylor took its second win of the young season Friday, 41-28.

Holly Frazier scored nine points and Shelby Johnson chipped in eight. Kelsey Marek put in two points and Stephanie Zachary made a free throw to round out the scoring.

The girls take another road trip Tuesday to Killeen to face the Harker Heights Lady Knights. The JV tips off at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity. The Ducks stay at home to host the Lexington Eagles, also with the JV beginning at 5 p.m.

The two teams switch sites Friday, with the girls staying home to face the Troy Lady Trojans and the boys taking on the Burnet Bulldogs. The JV girls begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity. The boys freshman team tips off at 5 p.m., followed by the JV and varsity squads.
