Parents should help children get good education

Dear Editor:

The election is over and we will be having another party taking control of our government.

It is a first for us all. President-elect Barack Obama is a black man and well educated and he is a Democrat.

You know when all of our American children started to (go to) school together, we all felt like it was the right thing to do. We still are thinking that. But many of our youth of all races, white, brown or black, are still getting into trouble. Some people complain and think their race is discriminated against. I do not believe that at all. I do believe mothers need a father to help keep their youth going to school. There are too many mothers having to do it all, but whose fault is that?

You know when a teen gets into trouble their name is not listed in the news, but what if a youth, 15 or 16, was caught and their name listed and also their parent or parents’ names listed? It could make a difference in the way the parent handled their boys or girls.

Come on, parents, step up and start helping your children to get a good education. They could also be a president or other fine citizen of this United States of America. There is no other country like ours.

God bless America and all of our people.
