The opposition Labor Party has again come under fire from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson after the Sunday newspaper published a photo showing the prime minister, along with two staff members, taking part in an online Christmas quiz.

According to the newspaper, the photo was taken on December 15 last year. Under the Corona rules in force in London at the time, members of different families were prohibited from meeting together in indoor spaces. The official guidelines at the time read: “Although there are exceptions for professional purposes, you should not have a Christmas lunch or party at work when it is primarily a social activity and is not permitted by applicable rules.”

A Downing Street spokesman said the prime minister had “actually participated in a competition for a short time to thank staff for their hard work during the pandemic”. “Employees in Downing Street often had to be in the office to work on our response to the pandemic, so those who were in the office were able to be physically involved in their offices.”

The opposition Labor Party is not satisfied with this interpretation. “While rules prevented people from throwing Christmas parties at work and people across the country followed the rules, Boris Johnson led a culture of disregard for the rules at the heart of government,” Vice President Angela Rayner said. He really thinks different rules apply to him than the others.”

Johnson has been under fire for days over Downing Street’s behavior during the lockdown.
