In the final preliminary round, the final, Antwerp will compete with Sporting. The Portuguese settled at 83-84 with Göttingen, the team of former Giants coach Roel Moores. Thanks to a late triple pointer, Göttingen reached 83-83. Extensions seemed to be in the works, but a last minute (and converted free-throw) error gave the Portuguese a clear path to victory.
The Antwerp giants successfully completed their European visit. In the first quarter, the class difference with Larnaca was already evident and the giants confirmed it even more in the last quarter.
In the next and final preliminary round, Antwerp will play against the winner of the duel between Göttingen and Sporting. If the Giants win that game on Friday, they can go to the group stage, just like Mechelen.
