Austrian businessman and founder of Red Bull Dietrich Mateschitz dies | Other news

Dietrich Mateschitz co-founded Red Bull with Thai businessman Shaliu Yuvidhya in the mid-1980s. The Austrian company was not harmed. Thanks to the well-known energy drink, Mitchitz’s net worth is estimated at more than $25 billion.

Mitchitz also had a huge impact on the sports world with Red Bull. In the 1990s, he entered Formula 1 with Sauber as sponsor. He led the Jaguar team for nearly 20 years. The racing stable has been renamed Red Bull, the team of current world champion Max Verstappen.

Red Bull is also present as a sponsor in other motor sports. For example, the company is the name sponsor of the MXGP Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team and also the main sponsor of the MotoGP Repsol Honda team.

Since 2005, Red Bull has also focused on the world of football. RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, among others, live by the grace of Red Bull and have been able to take a step to the (sub) European summit thanks to Mateschitz’s investment.

In addition, Red Bull also sponsors many individual athletes, among whom cyclist Wout van Aert is perhaps one of the most famous.

Red Bull founder Mateschitz’s health hasn’t been going well for a while. He passed away on Saturday at the age of 78.

News of Mateschitz’s death also caused turmoil in the Formula 1 world during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in the United States on Saturday. Team boss Christian Horner addressed the press after the news was announced.

“Dietrich was always very enthusiastic and supportive. Thanks to him we are here. He showed us that nothing is impossible. He was a very inspiring man,” was Horner’s first reaction.
