Russia’s gas group Gazprom relied on this work to justify cutting shipments to Germany via the gas pipeline in June. Kyiv responded with great disappointment at the Canadian decision. “We call on the Canadian government to reconsider the decision and keep the sanctions policy as it is,” a statement from the Ukrainian foreign and energy ministries said.
