The search for a new Ketnet cover was an unprecedented success this year. At least 4,087 young men applied to succeed Sien Wynants and Thomas Van Achteren. After a thrilling search, Heriter Thibault, Nidal van Rijn and Thomas de Smit were victorious on Sunday morning. Along with seniors Sarah Muhamo, Sander Gillies and Gloria Monseries, they now make up the Ketnet’s covers team.
Who are the three new covers?
Nidal van Rijn
Nidal is 19 years old, born in Hechtel. He pursues teacher training in Dutch language and ethics. In his spare time he is a conductor in Chiro and loves to go to the cinema. You may know Ketnetters Nidal from Ketnet’s “Wannabe’s” and “Schijtluizen” shows. Nidal said up front, “I’m going to have a lot of fun with this delay in coming of age!”
Thomas de Smet
Thomas is 22 years old and comes from Meise. Meanwhile he lives in Bors. He studies media and entertainment business, is a scout leader and a passionate amateur football player. Ketnetters can identify Thomas from the Ketnet programs “De Hoppers” and “Schijtluizen”. “It worked, I’m usually not happy,” said Thomas. “I’ve been watching Ketnet my whole life and was always thinking: ‘I want to do it.’ And then I just succeeded, out of 4,087 candidates.”
Hereter Tibo
Héritier is 22 years old and hails from Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. He studies Organization and Management at Erasmus University College in Brussels and is a polyglot. Héritier is fluent in French, English and Dutch. He also sings, dances and works. “Oh my gosh! Can someone wake me up? Because I’m the first Ketnet Brussels cover! I’ve been really looking forward to it and it’s happening now! Can’t wait to get started!”
