MovieDocumentary “Half Time” About the life of Jennifer Lopez (52) will be released on Netflix in June. The streaming platform said the film “takes a special look at the American singer’s career and reveals tremendous perseverance and determination for the artist.”
The film mainly focuses on the “second part” of the 52-year-old singer’s life, “as she reveals her development as a Latina mother and artist.” For example, in the trailer, Lopez talks about the many criticisms she has received from the media. The singer was often told that she would be a “singer”. “I honestly believed everything that was said about me.” Additionally, Lopez also admits that she has struggled with the fact that no one seems to take her seriously. As a result, she struggled with her self-confidence. “It was hard. My self-esteem was really low,” the star explains.
In the first pictures of “Halftime” we also see Ben Affleck (49), the singer’s fiancée. The actress remembers her interactions with Lopez as she struggled with all the media attention and criticism. I asked her, “Doesn’t this bother you?” And she said, “I expected this,” Affleck said.
Jennifer Lopez, also known by her pen name J-Lo, broke through as a singer in 1999 with a mix of pop, R&B, and Latin. She has recorded some big hits including Waiting For Tonight, Jenny From The Block, Let’s Get Loud, and Love Don’t Cost A Thing. With over 21 million different monthly listeners, she is currently one of the two hundred streaming artists in the world. As an actress, she has starred in dozens of films, the latest being the 2019 movie Hustlers.
Halftime will be available exclusively on Netflix starting June 14.
