The trial will not resume until May 16. The reason for this is the conference that Judge Benny Azcaret has to attend. This had been planned for a long time in advance and thus it was not a surprise to either party. It gives Johnny Depp’s team plenty of time to prepare for the Amber Heard interrogation. The actress testified in recent days about her abusive relationship with Depp and was questioned by her lawyer. After that, it is up to Depp’s team to ask her questions.

Judge Azcaret, however, is short on time. That’s why the experiment will start at 9 AM local time in the coming days – it will be 3 PM for us. Usually, the rounding is still done at 5 pm local time, with us it is 11 pm. On May 27, the two parties must present their closing arguments, the judge announced. This means that time is limited. According to Azkaret, Depp’s team has already consumed 35 hours 6 minutes of allotted time, and Heard’s team 36 hours 31 minutes. This means that they have 26 hours, 9 minutes, 24 hours, and 44 minutes, respectively, to make their case. “Once your time is up, it’s over,” the judge warned, saying she would be relentless: “Even if you’re in the middle of a sentence.”

You can still follow the rest of the process directly at HLN. As of May 16, you can visit here daily starting at 3 pm.
