Due to an accident during cycling practice in Spain, Lance Stroll will not be able to take part in this week’s F1 test drive, which will take place at the Bahrain Circuit.
“I am excited to come back from this setback as soon as possible,” Stroll said. Aston Martin added that his fitness would be monitored daily. The F1 pilot may still make it to the start of the new season.
Stoffel Vandoorne has been serving as Aston Martin’s reserve driver this season, but action should in principle be taken next weekend at the e-Prix in Cape Town, South Africa.
However, if Stroll is not suited to the Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir, there is a chance Vandoorne could make a direct entry into Formula One racing at the first Grand Prix of the season.
