According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Ukraine has deployed a large amount of equipment and troops to different parts of the front since Sunday, but has suffered particularly heavy losses in these attacks. Yesterday, the Russians stated that they had already destroyed more than 50 tanks and more than 350 vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian army within three days. According to Shoigu, at least eight Leopard tanks were destroyed.
A little later, the Russian state agency RIA Novosti, among others, shared impressive photos from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which were supposed to show how a Russian helicopter efficiently bombed a Leopard 2 tank. However, further investigation, including the pro-Russian military blog “Vojenni Osvedomitel”, revealed that it was in fact an agricultural vehicle – a John Deere 4830 to its enthusiasts.
Other Russian bloggers immediately criticized the rushed messages from the Russian ministry. The blogger “Fighterbomber” said that these are not even recent photos, but photos from last year, when there were no tigers in Kiev yet. The tractor was blown up during a training mission at the time.
