Netflix will no longer work PearlAnimated series Megan Markle. This decision comes after the number of subscriptions to the American broadcasting service decreased.
The American broadcasting platform, Netflix, announced, on Sunday, that it will put a number of announced animated series and films in the refrigerator. One of the projects is PearlThe animated series for children from Archewell Productions, started by Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The series will focus on the adventures of a twelve-year-old girl, who was inspired by the leading women in history.
The company said that in addition to Project Markle, Netflix has also canceled two other animated series as part of a “strategic decision.” This may have something to do with the low number of subscribers. In the first quarter of this year, the streaming service lost 200,000 subscribers and a further decline is expected in the next quarter. As a result, Netflix was unable to add the projected $2.5 million to its budget and had to be deducted from the show.
