Move better if you have Parkinson's disease

Move better if you have Parkinson’s disease

From Care for Movement, the first Sportief Actief will begin again on September 23 with exercise meetings for people with Parkinson’s disease or one of its forms. Claudia van Eijk and Michelle Lim Hoek Quinn, Mensendyk therapists in Posture and Movement offer various classes with targeted exercises and games. Previous participants are excited: “The lessons are full of tips on moving in difficult situations, very useful!” Another said: “There is a lot of interest in the participants, as well as a lot of humor in the lessons.” A third commented that it helps deal with your mobility issues and “It’s fun because of the interpersonal communication.”

You learn a lot in the lessons and you can explore your limits to increase your potential. You improve your condition and through exercises your muscles become stronger. Attention is also paid to coordination and reaction time. Walking and movements are practiced from everyday life, such as getting up from your chair or bed or from the floor.

With this series of 12 lessons, everyday movement becomes easier and more fun.

Lessons are held on Fridays from 10.30 to 11.30 in the sports hall De Brug, Van Wassenaerstraat 9 in Mijdrecht. The costs are 78 euros, and insurance may be able to make up for this. For more information or to register, please contact Claudia and Michel: 0297-76 91 96 or [email protected]. Welcome from September 23rd to the start of this tutorial series! You can also participate without any obligation first, to get a taste of the atmosphere and experience what these classes look like.
