MSI: AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs and X670(E) Coming September 15

According to MSI’s Weibo post, the Ryzen 7000 processors and accompanying X670(E) motherboards will appear on September 15, which is the date already mentioned. So it looks likely to be announced within this month. In the run-up to the launch, AMD partners once again showed off some motherboards, along with the alleged specs and prices that are also circulating.

The top-of-the-line X670E boards offer plenty of PCIe 5.0 connectivity and other I/O ports.

For example, Wccftech was told that AMD has four different SKUs. In terms of nomenclature, these are nearly identical models compared to the 5000 series, although the red team will choose the Ryzen 7 7700X as its first octa-core rather than the 7800X. The 7950X, 7900X, and 7600X are said to offer the same basic counts as their predecessors, but like the Intel Raptor Lake, they come with more L2 cache.

Clock speeds are also expected to increase significantly. Depending on the volume, all cores are clocked at at least 4.5 to 4.7 GHz, and a maximum single-core turbo clock goes along with the clip: the 7600X might go up to at least 5.3 GHz, while the 16-pin 7950X clocks in at up to 5.7 GHz should be able to boost. The tdp is also increased, which can partly be explained by the higher frequencies.

model Cores/Threads base clock increase the clock Cache (L3 + L2) TDP MSRP
Ryzen 9 7950X 16/32 4.5 GHz 5.7 GHz 80 MB (64 + 16) 170 watts ~$700
Ryzen 9 7900X 12/24 4.7 GHz 5.6 GHz 76 MB (64 + 12) 170 watts ~ $600
Ryzen 7 7700X 8/16 4.5 GHz 5.4 GHz 40 MB (32 + 8) 105 W ~ $300
Ryzen 5 7600X 6/12 4.7 GHz 5.3 GHz 38 MB (32 + 6) 105 W ~ $200

Compared to Zen 3-based CPUs, AMD could use softer pricing for the Ryzen 7000 series, although you should treat this with caution, just like the information above. The 7950X and 7600X seem to be much cheaper than their predecessors, while the 7900X will turn out to be a bit more expensive. With an alleged suggested retail price of around $300, the 7700X will be priced similarly to the 5700X.
