New York Attorney General Alvin Bragg also brought charges against another prominent Republican in the wake of the indictment of former US President Donald Trump. This is due to interference in the case.
Republican Congressman Jim Jordan and the Justice Committee he leads are responsible for an “unprecedented, brutal and unconstitutional attack” on the pending trial against Trump. It was said that Jordan was “carrying out a campaign to intimidate and attack Prague.”
The indictment is intended to prevent any action by the committee against Trump’s indictment.
Jordan, who was close to Trump in the past, took an aggressive stance against Prague and took steps against him before the Justice Committee. Among other things, he claims that Bragg is acting under “political pressure from left-wing activists.” It is possible that the committee will summon Prague. Republicans can launch a parliamentary investigation with a majority in the House of Representatives.
Last week, Trump appeared in court in New York over irregularities related to hush money paid to pornographic actress Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election. It was the first time in history that a former US president was indicted on criminal charges. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
