Nintendo Hacker Gary Bowser Released Early: “Pay Nintendo All Your Life” | games

Nintendo hacker Gary Bowser has been fired early. In an interview with a YouTuber, Bowser said he still owes Nintendo $10 million and thinks he’s stuck in that for the rest of his life.

Gary Bowser has been released early according to TorrentFreak. His 40-month prison sentence began in early 2022, but Bowser is now free for good behaviour. He was working with Team Xecuter, a hacker group that made “mod chips” for Nintendo consoles, including the Switch and 3DS. These chips allow players to play illegally downloaded games.

Team Xecuter also made these modified chips for Playstation and Xbox, but it was Nintendo’s own mods that killed the bunch. In addition to his prison sentence, Bowser settled with Nintendo in 2021 for the sum of ten million dollars (9.11 million euros), compensation for all lost income for the company. The Xecuter team immediately stopped making modifications, too.

Now Bowser says in an interview with YouTuber Nick Moses that he only paid $175 in jail. He expects Nintendo to take “25 to 30 percent of his income for the rest of his life.”
