Postponement of “thank you edition” parties for health care workers due to the high…

Healthcare staff are once again overrun with a sharp rise in hospitalizations due to Covid-19. So the music festival’s prom night decided to postpone the ‘Thanksgiving for the Care’ issue – announced last month to thank healthcare workers for their efforts during the coronavirus crisis – possibly until spring.

“Thanksgiving edition” was Just announced last month. The intent was to thank the Flemish caregivers and volunteers for their tremendous efforts during the pandemic over the past year and a half.

The organization had previously moved the “classic” concerts to November 18 and 19, 2022, after they could not continue in 2020 as well. But now the ‘thanksgiving’ to Flemish caregivers and volunteers must also be postponed until spring. The music festival was announced this Thursday.

Unfortunately, the current situation with the high numbers of Corona does not allow them to enjoy these parties without worries. Both concerts, scheduled for November 19 and 20 at Sportpaleis, will be postponed until next spring. Thus, the healthcare sector once again assumes its responsibility to care for the expected influx of fourth wave patients in the coming weeks and to continue providing regular care,” the organization says on its website.

Healthcare personnel who already have a ticket will receive an email with more information. The same goes for the many health care workers who are on the waiting list. The two shows were sold out, and even funding was sought for the third and fourth.

Thanksgiving for Care was an initiative of the Flemish government, ZNA and GNA hospitals, and PSE Belgium, the organizer of the Night of the Proms in Sportpaleis.
