“Supplying the regime in Kyiv with offensive weapons will lead to a global catastrophe,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel on Sunday. He said that Russia would use “stronger weapons” if the United States and NATO countries supplied weapons to Kyiv to regain territory.
Volodin indicated that Russia would regard attacks on the four annexed territories – Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson – as attacks on Russian territory. The parliament speaker said that members of the German parliament and parliaments in other countries should be aware of their responsibility to humanity.
Such decisions would lead to a “terrible war” with very different battles than before. “And given the technological superiority of Russian weapons, politicians abroad who make such decisions should understand that this may end in a world-class tragedy that will destroy their country,” Volodin said.
