SilverStone completed its canister range with the Fara 311, a 27-liter ATX compact model without a lot of bells and whistles. In addition to the steel side panels, there is a grille up front and a 5.25-inch engine bay, which is a less common feature these days.
In addition to micro-atx and itx motherboards, there is room for coolers for processors up to 15.6 cm in height, and graphics cards with a maximum length of 35.4 cm. The power supply is placed on top and must be shorter than 14 cm so as not to interfere with the cables of the installed disc player or any other device.
The 5.25″ drive bay can also be used to accommodate more storage (3.5 / 2.5″). At the bottom of this bay is a bracket for an additional 3.5-inch hard drive, which can be removed to install the cooler. At the bottom next to the motherboard tray fits a 2.5-inch SSD, while users can place a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive at the bottom of the enclosure.
In terms of cooling, up to two 140mm fans can be installed in the front, and two 120mm fans built into the rear. Compatibility with radiators is rather limited: up to 240 mm are supported in the front, followed by 120 mm in the rear. Finally, the I/O consists of a 3.5mm combo mount, as well as two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one 2.0 connector.
