Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be a phenomenon: on the pitch, but also away from it. As a player, he already occupied pages in the Guinness Book of Records with his impressive statistics, but now the Portuguese has also secured a place as a completely new YouTuber. In just 90 minutes he (literally) broke the internet.
Cristiano Ronaldo is bigger than football.
Just ninety minutes after launching his YouTube channel, he already had one million subscribers. YouTube has never reached 1 million subscribers so quickly.
The 39-year-old Portuguese football star has already reached a huge audience on his social media. Ronaldo then posted on Wednesday: “The wait is over. My YouTube channel is finally here. Subscribe now and join me on this new journey.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has 112.5 million followers on Twitter, 170 million on Facebook and 636 million on Instagram. Just hours after posting his first video on YouTube, the Al Nassr striker had nearly six million subscribers.
He has now posted eleven videos online. They have been viewed between 426,000 and 2.6 million times. Is there another record in the making?
He himself would say, “Siuuuubscribe.”
“Subtly charming internet specialist. Avid writer. Friendly alcohol guru. Music ninja. Devoted social media fanatic.”
