“The best chef in the world” Guy Savoy lost his third Michelin star

“The best chef in the world” Guy Savoy lost his third Michelin star

French chef Guy Savoy, the best chef in the world according to “La List” for six years in a row, loses his Michelin star this year. The Michelin guide declared his restaurant to drop from three stars to two.

The Guy Savoy restaurant in Paris has been allowed to call itself a three-star restaurant since 2002, the highest number of stars awarded by Michelin inspectors. Savoy is the chef: in November he was at the top of La Liste for the sixth consecutive time (alone or in fairness). This is the best thousand of France that combines reviews from different restaurant guides and customer reviews.

“Until now, I only knew the best moments of my career,” Savoy told AFP. “Tonight I’m thinking about my team and I’ll talk to them tomorrow. We lost the game this year, but we’ll win it again next year.

The Michelin Guide also deprives another French chef of his third star: Christopher Cotanseau, who runs the restaurant of his name in La Rochelle.

“They are exceptional restaurants, so you can imagine that they were long-thought-out decisions, preceded by numerous visits by our inspectors and inspectors throughout the year,” said Gwendal Pollenek, who leads the Michelin Guide. He also spoke to both chefs to share the decision.

It is the first time in three years that a star has been taken from a three-star restaurant in France.
