It’s been a while (November 2021) so we can tell you, based on a leaked screenshot from the Sonos app, that the speaker manufacturer will be working on a smaller, more affordable version of the subwoofer. This version, christened Sub Mini, took a long time to come, but according to The Verge, it should really hit the market soon.
While the Mini is expected to hit shelves at a reasonable price, it’s not yet clear how low that price will actually be. In fact, not much is known about the release date yet. Meanwhile, in reddit There has been a lot of speculation that the price of such a device is likely to fall in the $450-550 range.

Regardless, The Verge reports that they have seen an official image of the upcoming Sub Mini and that it looks exactly like the leaked screenshots that sparked the initial rumors in November 2021. The smaller version is quite reminiscent of the original Sub Mini, but it looks a lot more compact. The device can be described as being in a “pill shape”, with the cavity remaining in the middle of the sleeve. At the moment, no other details are known regarding specific functions and capabilities.
