A huge yacht is moored off the coast of Palma de Mallorca, causing quite a stir because of its name. The letter “Z” denotes the surname of the owner Kostyantyn Zhevago (48), but the letter has become a symbol of Russia’s support since the war in Ukraine.
The 65.7-meter yacht arrived early Monday morning from Bejaia in Algeria and anchored at the beach resort of Cala Major, west of the port of Palma. This reports the “Mallorca Zeitung”. “The name of the yacht is somewhat strange in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as the Z became a symbol of support for the Russian army and government,” the statement read.
According to the German news site, it is not known whether the Ukrainian businessman was on the plane. The American business magazine “Forbes” estimates the “net worth” of the youngest self-made billionaire in Europe at 1.3 billion euros, which is good for him taking the 2190th place in the ranking of the world’s richest billionaire.

The businessman, who was born in the former Russian mining town of Loeltin, is the main shareholder in mining company Ferrexpo, according to the business magazine. It is the third largest exporter of iron ore pellets in the world, and it has a base in Ukraine.
Zhevago was the CEO of Ferrerexpo, according to ‘Forbes’, but he resigned at the end of 2019 due to an investigation against him by Ukraine’s public prosecutor. “He should be questioned about money laundering and embezzlement at his former Finance and Credit Bank, which went bankrupt in 2015,” she added. Zhivago started his political career in the late 1990s and was a member of the Verkhovna Rada from 1998 to 2019. He owns Ukrainian football club FC Vorskla Poltava and has two children.
The “Z” was built in the Netherlands in 2014. The superyacht is valued at more than 64.8 million euros, can accommodate 14 guests in seven cabins and has a maximum range of about 9260 kilometers.
