The Department of Health, Welfare and Sports (VWS) is making a portion of the stock of FFP2 masks available from National Federation Resources (LCH) available for healthcare at a reduced amount. Caregivers must have adequate access to FFP2 masks if they are to use these masks in accordance with their professional assessment and/or need for safe work.
With the emergence of the omikron variant and associated uncertainty, Minister De Jonge has asked employers in the healthcare sector to start a discussion on this, to make space for more use of FFP2 masks and to make adequate FFP2 masks available.
FFP2 masks are widely available. In order to give an additional boost to usage and to lower the threshold for using and making these masks available, the opportunity will be offered at the beginning of January to order FFP2 masks via LCH at a significantly reduced price. Healthcare providers can submit applications through the usual procedure from January 4-18, 2022 or until supplies run out.
Minister Hugo de Jong: All health care workers should feel safe in the course of their work. The availability of FFP2 masks could contribute to this. That’s why we’re making it possible to temporarily buy these masks at a lower price.”
