Westerlo beats Standard with a fair goal in Heat Kobe | Jupiler Pro League 2022/2023

Both teams got off to a slow start to the game. It was clear that both Westerlo and Standard had come to win. They quickly played up front, but that didn’t create any chances in the first half hour.

Then the dominance went to Westerlo, who took the lead after 38 minutes thanks to a wonderful cross from Dirks and a header from Fettockelli.

Westerlo was stronger on both the left and right sides, with Maxim de Kuiper on the left flank of the back as a shining example. He regularly grabbed the ball from his direct opponent, Donum and made nice moves.

Where passes and the last goals were missing in the first half, we spoiled the second half. Less than five minutes later, Nene Dorgils ran well on a through ball and doubled a head-to-head lead with Bodart.

Then Standard came, but he needed a peculiar goal with a pass from Bodart to fall back. His far kick stunned the home defense, and Tapsoba’s break in front of Bulat did not hesitate, 2-1.

Ten minutes later, Bodart himself received a strange goal. His teammate Jacob Barrett tried to block a cross, but hit his goalkeeper with the foot, making it 3-1. Everything must be returned to standard.

Then Noë Dussenne reduced the difference to 3-2 with a good shot. But Lyle Foster was barely a minute after a superb shot from outside the box.
