The redesign hasn’t been officially introduced yet, but according to WABetaInfo Hidden in the trial version of the app. The option is supposed to become available to testers later, after which WhatsApp will release it to everyone once all potential bugs are discovered.
The design of WhatsApp is currently different on iPhone and Android phones. iPhone users have a navigation bar at the bottom with buttons that let you move between chats, phone calls, communities, and update status and your settings. With an Android app, these options are spread over buttons and tabs at the top of the app.
Align iPhone and Android
A future update will update the Android app so that both interfaces are equal. This means that the iPhone’s navigation bar will also be found on Android. There are still some small differences: the Settings button still looks elsewhere on Android.
It remains to be seen how quickly WhatsApp will release the redesign for everyone. Test jobs sometimes roll out quickly, but with other innovations it can sometimes take months before everyone can get started.
