PropertyBritain’s Prince Andrew, 62, wanted to reflect on his time as a soldier during the Falklands War last weekend. The son of Queen Elizabeth (95) did so via photos and a personal message he shared via the profile of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (62) on Instagram. But the photos disappeared as quickly as they appeared.
The ‘Fergie’ account shared a black and white photo of Prince Andrew in military uniform, in which he is smiling widely and looking at the camera with his arm folded. “I thought of that day when a young man went into battle, full of courage. I came back as a changed man,” Andrew commented on the photo. During the Falklands War – which lasted from 2 April 1982 to 14 June of that year – the United Kingdom and Argentina fought for the Falkland Islands off South America.
The British royal family said he left behind “childish things and false boasts” and returned as a man “fully aware of human frailty and suffering”. “Looking back makes me think more seriously and pray for those in struggle today.” Andrew went on to say that he could say that his short stint at war taught him that “war is the inability to keep peace”. “War is the failure of human judgment,” he wrote. “War is the failure to realize that we need to be able to understand each other’s different points of view, whether we agree or not.”

Message disappeared
However, the photos were removed a few hours later, without an official explanation. It is also not known if Sarah Ferguson was involved in crafting the message that her ex-husband wanted to share. Since Andrew Attended his father’s memorial serviceRoyal experts suggest the prince will be determined to make his “royal return”, after the case against Virginia Joffrey, 38 – who accused him of sexual assault – has finally ended.
But experts are skeptical: “There is no chance of him being allowed to return to work in court,” they said. “It is even impossible for him to return to the front row to complete the tasks, he will always be on the sidelines. No matter how Andrew sees his future, he must not have the illusion that these views are not shared by the people who actually make the decisions.”
