Valve has indefinitely postponed the launch of its official docking station for Steam Deck. The docking station is already scheduled for this spring. According to Valve, this delay will not affect the production or delivery of Steam Deck itself.
Delay Coming according to Valve Because of the “lack of spare parts and the closure of factories due to the Covid virus.” The company says it is “working to improve the situation” and will share more information about the docking station as soon as possible. Valve also says it is improving support for other docks.
According to Valve, the docking station delay will not affect the production schedule and Steam Deck reservations. Currently, this mobile device is already in the waiting list. Users who pre-order the Steam Deck can now anticipate it as soon as “October 2022 or later”.
Steam Deck Docking Station is designed to use Steam Deck as a kind of desktop computer. It has three USB 3.1 ports, an HDMI 2.0 connection, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, and an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connection. It is not known now when the docking station will be launched and Valve has not yet shared a suggested retail price.
