A six-year-old British boy drowned in a hotel swimming pool during a family holiday in Cyprus. The boy died after his mother found him unconscious in the water at the hotel where they were staying in the coastal resort of Paphos.
Although he was taken to the hospital and placed on a ventilator, his condition worsened. He was still unconscious and was transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia for further treatment. He died there on October 6.
Previous accidents
Earlier this month, a British man drowned near Lisbon when he got into trouble while swimming at Sao Pedro de Moel Beach. Despite the surfer’s attempts to help, the man’s life could not be saved.
In memory of
Dale, the boy’s brother who died, paid tribute to him. He described him as his “best friend” and a “beautiful person” who turned his life around after struggling with his mental health.
