Spanish and Israeli pepper season is in full swing at Tholan – Gilad production. “There are fewer flights from Israel because of the war. There is also a shortage of workers to package all the pepper from the plant, but we still get the quantities we need,” says Frank Mostert.
“Demand from the US and Canada is very good at the moment, so we send a lot of Spanish and Israeli trade there. Canadian production is finished at the same time as the Dutch season and there is still a little production from Mexico. We can fill. That gap is good. The exchange rate is also becoming very favorable. Advantage. Pepper prices are not bad this time of year, especially the part we can sell overseas.”

Preparations for the Dutch greenhouse vegetable season have also now resumed. “We have ambitions to further expand our area next season. For example, we are strong in bell peppers, peppers and mini cucumbers, and we want to expand the area further and add some additional products to our range.”
