German police arrested a man in the city of Ulm who was holding people hostage, police confirmed to the Sudwest Press, Neue Ulmer Zeitung and others. He is said to have gone out with one of the hostages at around 8:20 p.m., when shots were fired and the hostage-taker was arrested.

Police did not confirm where the hostages were being held or how many people were being held. Local media wrote earlier that the matter concerned four people who were violently taken hostage in a Starbucks branch.
