Corona injuries are rising again in the Netherlands | Abroad

The number of Covid-19 infections is also rising again among our northern neighbours. Hospital admissions in the Netherlands are also increasing.

The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) has received 3,737 reports of people testing positive for coronavirus between Friday morning and Saturday morning. This is more than the 7-day average of 3,243, and also slightly more than on Friday when 3,718 new cases were registered (adjusted |).

And the number of deaths increased by 5 between Friday and Saturday, one less than on Friday when there were 6 deaths. This does not mean that these people have all died in the past 24 hours, deaths are often reported later.

There are now fewer corona patients in Dutch hospitals than the day before. A total of 546 people are being treated for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The day before, that total was 543.

The National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) in the Netherlands also reported that 138 people are now in intensive care units. 16 people were admitted to intensive care units, and the total number of patients in intensive care units is one more than the day before. There are now 408 patients on nursing wards, up 2 from Friday.

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units has remained roughly the same over the past week, but the number has increased in nursing wards. The LCPS expects that the number of patients in intensive care units will also increase in the next week, as well as in nursing wards.
