celebritiesA giant statue of Shakira was unveiled Tuesday in Barranquilla, northern Colombia. The city is the birthplace of the international pop star who achieved huge hits with his songs “Whenever, Wherever”, “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Waka Waka”.
The statue is made of bronze and is 6.5 meters high. It shows Shakira belly dancing: Belly dancing has become a trademark for the 46-year-old Colombian.
Shakira's parents attended the unveiling of the statue. “I'm so happy to be able to share this with my dad,” the singer said on Instagram.
