Everything you need to know before the Lego 2K engine rolls out – these are the games

Game modes, customization options, and crossplay are explained in detail ahead of the global launch on May 19.

Start your engines! LEGO® 2K Drive launches worldwide on Friday, May 19, 2023. Developed by Visual Concepts, LEGO 2K Drive enhances the popular LEGO gameplay experience with a vast open world where players can build their dream cars and drive anywhere to become a LEGO racing legend . Get ready to go and check out everything you can do in the world of Bricklandia.

Four modes to explore

There’s plenty of open-world exploration and exciting racing in the four LEGO 2K Drive modes.

The Story – Play alone or in split-screen co-op on your journey from rookie racer to celebrated champion as you battle a series of charismatic opponents in hopes of one day winning the Sky Cup. With every win, you make your way to the famous Shadow Z road villain. Cup Series – Get the Grand Prix racing experience in Cup Series mode, with multiple tracks in a row. You score points after each race based on your finishing position, and those with the highest points totals get the first places on the podium. There is a Grand Prix Cup Series for every Bricklandia biome. The Race – Want to jump straight into the action as fast as you can? Check out the Race mode, where you can choose any track and license class level (which determines the overall speed and skills available) to start driving right away. Mini-Games – Mini-Games have unique objectives that don’t depend on crossing a finish line, and speed isn’t the only thing it takes to succeed. In Defend Minigames, you have to destroy waves of robots marching to protect objects, while Rescue Minigames gets frantic as you fight off groups of roaming baddies and capture the helpless townsfolk.

Personalization and sharing

In LEGO 2K Drive, the garage is where you build and customize vehicles. You have the power to create your dream vehicles in the garage, customizing every building block from nose to tail. Right from the start, you have hundreds of building blocks to build with, categorized by type and category, with over 1,000 unique LEGO pieces available throughout the adventure.

Each vehicle in LEGO 2K Drive has its own stats, including top speed, acceleration, handling, health, strength and weight. The more rocks in your vehicle, the heavier it is, which affects your weight class. Each of the six weight classes, from Superlight to Massive, has its pros and cons, so play around and see what works best for you. Each vehicle is designed to ensure a balanced experience. A vehicle with particularly high stats in one region must have a trade-in in another.

There are tons of customization options for your creations, from individual building blocks and paint jobs to fine details like the sound of the horn and engine. Switch wheels, move the driver’s seat, add a personal touch to your vehicle with a fun decal or accessory, and more.

After launch, we will also introduce the ability for players to share customizations with friends and the online community. *

LEGO 2K Drive Standard Edition will be available worldwide May 19, 2023 for Nintendo SwitchTM, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), PlayStation®4 (PS4™), Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.
