Dunder knocks out Waasland-Beveren from the Croky Cup

Round five of the Croquet Cup immediately became the last stop for second-division team Wassland Beveren on Saturday night. De Leeuwen, active in the First Division until last season, bit his teeth on his first national dander after a late global goal by Leonard Haines (81).

Dender survived three preliminary rounds in the Cup and thus reached the round where all first division players enter. Later in the day, with Wezet against RWDM and Lierse K. against Rupel Boom, two more matches with the second tier teams were scheduled.

RWDM and Lierse Kempenzonen switch to another round

The second division team RWDM managed to survive the fifth round of the Croque Cup on Saturday night. On Luzet’s first national visit, substitute Jarno Lippert crowned himself Man of the Match with the only goal of the match.

With Lierse Kempenzonen, another 1B team appeared in the cup tournament, against Rupel Boom, who also played in the third highest level. The Pallieters made the difference in the first fifteen minutes of the second half with two goals from Thibaut Van Acker (53.) and Stallone Limbombe (58.).

Injured Jadon Sancho returns to Manchester United

Jadon Sancho left the England squad. The 21-year-old winger bruised training this week and missed Thursday’s World Cup qualifier in Hungary (0-4).

The FA confirmed on Saturday that Sancho (22 caps and three goals) will miss the matches between Andorra (Sunday in London) and Poland (Wednesday in Warsaw). He has since returned to Manchester United and, according to the FA, will be ready to play the league game against Newcastle on September 11. England topped Group A with 12 out of 12.

Jadon Sancho moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United this summer for €85 million. After playing against Leeds and Southampton, he was in the starting lineup for the first time in the third round of the match against Wolverhampton.

Falcao to Vallecano

Colombian international Radamel Falcao continues his career with Rayo Vallecano. The 35-year-old was free of transfers after leaving Turkey’s Galatasaray. He has played there since 2019. The striker still had a (lucrative) contract until the end of the season, but that was resolved this week by mutual agreement.

Falcao previously played in Spain with Atlético Madrid, between 2011 and 2013. He scored 70 goals in 91 matches and won the European League and the King’s Cup. The Colombian also has a history with River Plate, Porto, Monaco, Manchester United and Chelsea. He has already played 91 matches for the national team and scored 35 goals.

Hungary captain Szalay to miss upcoming international matches after positive coronavirus test result

Hungary will have to dispense with captain Adam Szalay in their next two World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Andorra. The Hungarian Federation confirmed, today, Saturday, that the 33-year-old German striker Mainz had contracted the Corona virus.

Szalay (74 caps, 24 goals) is under quarantine and has since left selection. Hungary plays in Albania on Sunday and at home against Andorra on Wednesday. After four matches, the Hungarians are third in Group A with 7 out of 12, behind England (12 out of 12) and Poland (7 out of 12).

And on Thursday evening, Salai was on the field for 90 minutes against England (0-4). FIFA launched an investigation after that match because Hungarian fans were guilty of racism against English players at Puskas Arena in Budapest.
