Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a press conference today that he was against a Palestinian state “under any possible circumstances” after the war. He said that he has informed the US about this.

According to Netanyahu, Israel will agree to the deal only if it gains military control over the entire Gaza Strip. “In any future agreement, Israel must gain security control over all areas west of the Jordan. It clashes with the concept of sovereignty. But what can you do?”
“We get terror from every area we leave. Terrible terror,” he said. He says that's the case in southern Lebanon, Gaza, and parts of the West Bank. So he believes Israel's control of the West Bank is necessary.
The prime minister also vowed to continue the offensive until Israel achieves a “decisive victory over Hamas.” Netanyahu didn't say how the Americans reacted when he told them this, but said he believes “the Israeli prime minister can say no to our friends.”

The US has previously called on Israel to scale back its offensive and said the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel – the so-called two-state solution – should be part of what happens after the war.
