Liverpool have started the new year in excellent style. They won 4-2 over Newcastle and will therefore remain top of the Premier League for a while. The visitors only bowed out in the final quarter. An unexpected shot from Alexander-Arnold hit the crossbar. The goal of the year was almost achieved on January 1st.

Closed first half between Liverpool and Newcastle. Both teams saw a goal disallowed, and Mohamed Salah missed a penalty kick. Botman committed a foul and was awarded a penalty kick. Martin Dubravka turned and Trent Alexander-Arnold fired the rebound wildly.

However, he has an impressive kicking style. In the 39th minute, he shot at the goal from an impossible place, but his shot hit the crossbar. The goal of the year has almost been achieved already.

In the second half, it turned into a goal celebration. Salah opened the scoring. He completed a beautiful attack perfectly. Alexander Isak then beat Van Dijk behind to make it 1-1 and Curtis Jones' goal (3-1) was also impressive.

Then it was the Dutch's turn. Jacopo, who had just come on, made a wonderful pass from the outside of Salah's foot and scored to make the score 4-1. Botman then scored Newcastle's second goal with a header from a corner kick. In the final stage, it appeared that Diogo Jota went down, but referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty kick. Salah was behind the ball again and now he hit the target.
