look. De Bruyne training with a group in Jeddah

who’s here! For the first time in four months, Kevin De Bruyne – sporting a bushy beard – is once again part of Manchester City’s group training. Our midfielder was given the green light this weekend to take things easy following the operation he underwent on his hamstring this summer. De Bruyne was warmly welcomed by coach Pep Guardiola and his teammates at the training field in Saudi Arabia. The chance of the midfielder playing in the Club World Cup is almost non-existent, and he is scheduled to return to the team after the World Cup. Another thing: Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland were not present at the training in Jeddah.

“The new Club World Cup is a problem.”

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer expressed his opposition to the new expanded Club World Cup proposed by FIFA on Sunday. He warned of the additional burden on players in an already busy football calendar.

Hainer spoke to the German press after Bayern’s 3-0 victory over Stuttgart in the league. “Bayern’s players already have trophies at club level, league, national cup and European competitions. But most of the players are also international. This is on top of that. This is clearly a problem for us,” he said.

There is Manchester City

Surprisingly, Kevin De Bruyne is in Jeddah. The Red Devil has not played since he had to leave the field with a hamstring injury in mid-August in the first game of the season, but will still make the trip as the Nationals’ official captain. However, the chance of him playing there is almost non-existent. The 32-year-old midfielder recently stated that his recovery is going well and that he hopes to return “shortly after the New Year”.

The Union, led by Benzema, lost painfully

A defeat for Karim Benzema and his companions. Al-Ittihad lost to Al-Ahly of Egypt 3-1 in the second round on Friday evening. The Saudi club has many stars, such as Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Fabinho, but it quickly fell behind. At the end of the first half, Benzema had the opportunity to equalize the score, but he missed a penalty kick. The deficit widened further in the second half. When the score was 3-0, many disappointed Saudi fans announced their retirement. They left the field en masse.

Al-Ahly has fewer big names, but they have old acquaintances in their ranks. Percy Tau started on the right flank. Striking: Just before the final whistle, Tau was replaced by Frenchman Anthony Modeste. He managed to get a red card for an elbow collision four minutes later.
