Microsoft Teams Essentials launched as a standalone solution for small and medium businesses

Microsoft Teams Essentials is a separate Teams solution that doesn’t require you to have a Microsoft 365 subscription. The new service is a direct competitor to Zoom.

Who is not interested in Microsoft 365Cloud solutions, but in Teams, can now move to Microsoft Teams Essentials. A separate solution for the well-known telecom platform costs 3.40 € excluding VAT per user per month. For this amount you get:

• Unlimited group chats for a total of 30 hours
• Meetings of up to 300 people
• 10 GB cloud storage per user

To make virtual meeting invitations even easier, participants outside the company no longer need to sign in to Teams. An email address is sufficient to attend a meeting.

Microsoft is also working on the soon-to-be-launched Google Calendar integration. Other tools such as virtual backgrounds, comments, group projects, and polls are also available within Microsoft Teams Essentials. In addition, of course, you can always chat with users.

If you want to video-record meetings, install apps within Teams, or want separate rooms, you must upgrade to a Microsoft 365 subscription. These prices start at €4.20 excluding VAT per month and also include the web version of the Office package.
