NMBS Railway will also be recruiting extensively in 2024. This year we are looking for 1,300 new employees, especially in operational positions such as train drivers, conductors and technicians.
Of the 1,300 vacant positions, more than 400 are for train drivers, 300 for train conductors, and 300 for technicians responsible for maintaining and refurbishing trains.
NMBS is also looking for about a hundred people to ensure safety at stations and on trains. This concerns both Securail security officers and emergency center operators.
In addition, NMBS is also looking for people in many other work areas, such as project managers, shop engineers, plant architects and data analysts.
In 2023, 1,600 vacant positions were filled. For the first time in ten years, more people who left the company were hired. Last year, a quarter more people applied for a job at NMBS than in 2022, which was already a record year.
