According to the U.S. Weather Service NWS, heavy rain is lashing the East Coast of the U.S., which could lead to flooding, winds up to 80 kilometers per hour and thunderstorms. Bad weather forced Vice President Kamala Harris' Air Force Two to land at Dulles International Airport in Virginia instead of Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

The cyclone hit the south-eastern part of the country. Such is the case in Florida, where Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 49 counties. At least three people were killed in South America. For example, one person was killed on a mobile home site in North Carolina and one person died when a tree fell on a car in Georgia. In Alabama, a storm threatens an octogenarian after a tornado destroys his mobile home.

More than 890,000 households, mainly in the east of the country, were without power Tuesday evening, according to the website Poweroutage.us. The winter storm is accompanied by heavy snowfall in parts of the US and is expected to continue into Wednesday.
