'Suits' tops the list of so-called 'library series' that have ended over the years. No fewer than 57.7 billion minutes of American Lawyer were streamed in the United States in 2023. The hit series 'The Office' broke the viewership record. In 2020, Americans watched 57.1 billion minutes of the acclaimed comedy series.

The most-watched original – series returning for a new season – is the critically acclaimed 'Ted Lasso' on Apple TV+ in 2023. In total, Americans watched nearly 17 billion minutes of the series. In the comedy series, Jason Sudeikis plays an optimistic American coach who takes an ailing British soccer team under his wing.

Most Watched Series on Netflix Ever

Last year, 'Suits' was also crowned as the most watched series on Netflix. Nine seasons of the Lawyer series were made between 2011 and 2019. The series follows New York attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Magt) who hires the brilliant Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), despite his lack of a law degree. Actress and royal Meghan Markle appeared on the world-renowned series for seven seasons. She played the role of lawyer Rachel Jane. Eventually, the Duchess of Sussex bid farewell to her role in 'Suits' as she married Britain's Prince Harry. This immediately marked the end of his acting career.

Earlier this month, some of the 'Suits' cast posed on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Sarah Raferty and Gabriel Macht also presented an award that evening. Meghan Markle was also invited to the reunion, but she declined because she “had another appointment” at the time.

With the huge success of 'Suits', a spin-off of the American series will be released soon. Aaron Korsh, who worked on the original series, will write the script. The story will feature new characters and take place in Los Angeles.
