Bayonetta 3, Nintendo Switch

“The chances of Bayonetta 2 and 3 coming to Xbox and PlayStation are not entirely non-existent”

According to popular developer Hideki Kamiya, it’s not entirely impossible that Bayonetta 2 and 3 won’t come to Xbox and PlayStation, but the chance isn’t great either.

If you want to watch Bayonetta games on PlayStation and Xbox, according to Kamiya, you should tell Nintendo you want to.

Bayonetta first appeared in 2009 as a multiplatform game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (and later for PC). However, it was published by SEGA at the time and since then Nintendo has provided Platinum Games a budget for its competitions. This eventually led to Part 2 only coming to Wii U at first. Unfortunately, this console did not work and was later re-released on the Nintendo Switch.

The same is happening now with Bayonetta 3, which is not appreciated by owners of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. If it’s up to Kamiya, you should already be on Nintendo to get the game on other platforms.

“We are developing Bayonetta 3, like Bayonetta 2, with money received from Nintendo”, writes Kamiya in Tweet. “Because we are ‘only in development’, Nintendo has complete control over the product.”

Remarkably, he goes on to say that it’s not entirely impossible to see Bayonetta 2 and its successor on other platforms.

“It seems that the chances of Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 3 being transferred to PS4 and Xbox are not zero”, he added.

Although the chance isn’t great, he compares it to the chance of Mario and Zelda appearing on other platforms and that doesn’t look very promising.

Bayonetta 3 is currently planned for next year and exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
