Italian football has once again shown its ugly side. The league match between Udinese and Milan was stopped for 10 minutes after goalkeeper Mike Maignan left the field due to racist chants. Milan eventually won by a narrow 2-3 margin.
Mike Maignan had already complained to the referee about the sounds of the jungle behind his goal. However, a call from the stadium boss did not bring any relief.
The Milan goalkeeper had had enough after half an hour. Minian left the field in a clear signal to the spectators. In the end, the match was stopped for about ten minutes.
Was Mike Minyan still upset by the chants? However, Udinese took the lead after falling behind. He erased Loftus-Cheek's opening goal with two strikes.
