This is when the new iPads will actually be unveiled

Apple hasn't announced any tablets yet this year, but when can we expect the new iPads? This is Apple's deadline.

Finally new iPads in 2024

Since the introduction of the iPad in 2010, Apple has not waited long before launching a new generation. The company usually releases at least one iPad every year, but that changed last year. There won't be an iPad at all in 2023, making it time for Apple to release a new tablet. However, the company has not made any announcements yet.

Apple was previously expected to hold a special event in March to introduce a series of products. The MacBook Air 2024 was already released this month, but the iPad Air and Pro 2024 are also expected soon. At the moment, the new tablets have not yet appeared. When will they come?

On this day, Apple announced the iPad

Previous rumors predicted that Apple would announce new iPads today. This seems unlikely now, especially since the tablets will appear in stores next Friday. Many stores are closed this weekend due to Easter. If the iPads are announced now, Apple will miss an important first weekend to put the tablet on sale.

Moreover, during the Easter holiday, stores do not have enough time to prepare for the sale of new tablets. So, there's a good chance that Apple will announce the iPads in the week after Easter. This means it is running Tuesday 9 April It is likely that a press release will be issued by Apple in which the new devices will be revealed. The tablets will appear in stores on Friday (April 12).

Display and update cause delays

Apple is still working on a special version of iPadOS 17.4 for the new tablet release. This update is not ready yet, so the company will need some time to launch the new devices. Additionally, the new OLED display of the 11-inch iPad Pro causes delays. This is a brand new screen, and not yet available enough for mass production.

Apple can therefore use the next two weeks to prepare for the release of new devices.
