Twitter launched ‘Super Follows’: Pay to see tweets

Twitter now allows owners of popular accounts to charge followers to read certain tweets. The company announced it.

Twitter is currently only releasing the new system in the US and Canada. Premium Followers pay $2.99, $4.99 or $9.99 per month for only the tweets and conversations they access. Twitter gets a share of the revenue.

The new feature comes with some conditions. Anyway, to monetize you must first have more than 10,000 followers, be at least 18 years old and have sent at least 25 tweets in the last 30 days.

In addition, in the first phase, only a limited number of US accounts will be able to provide tweets for a fee. At the moment, it only works on Apple devices.

additional services

Twitter is looking for ways to make money without adding more ads. For example, in June, the company already launched additional paid services for users in Canada and Australia. Then it was about additional capabilities on the platform, for example the ability to rank or read tweets more easily.

In the future, Twitter will add more options for paying followers, such as access to audio or newsletters.
