Kevin Borlée’s best time is 45″ 12. He stayed about a second higher in Liège. Dylan Borlée, who earlier this month scored his best at 45″ 18, was second at 46″ 18.
Jonathan Borleigh did not reach the finish line due to a hamstring injury, which is very unfortunate two weeks before the World Athletics Championships in Eugene. “I don’t know if it’s a crack, but it’s definitely not good news,” said Jonathan who was disappointed afterwards.
Kevin and Dylan Borlée received the news earlier today that they can not only compete in the Belgian Tornado in Eugene, but also individually. “My seventh World Cup, that’s good,” Kevin says of it.
“Today I felt pretty good, so I don’t understand why the chrono is so disappointing. Maybe it’s because the wind shifted in the way.”
For Dylan Burley, the relief over the World Cup selection was even greater. “I worked for years for it,” said the youngest member of the family. “I saw the selection coming after a great month of June, but it’s still good to get confirmation.”
In the women’s 400 metres, the win was for South African Miranda Coetzee in 52″ 07. Helena Bonet was the fastest cheetah at 52″ 25, ahead of Naomi van den Broek (52″ 62) and Pauline Coquette (53″ 34).
