Apple TV 4K 2022: Two Models

Apple brings new Camel For the first time in two different models. The first model has 64 GB of storage and costs 169 euros. If you put more than twenty euros on the table, you have an Apple TV 4K 2022 with an Ethernet connection and more storage space (128 GB). This makes it much cheaper than its predecessor.

Here are six other changes to the Apple TV 4K 2022:

1. A15 Bionic chip: faster and smoother

The third generation Apple TV 4K is essentially a hardware improvement. Where the second generation still had an A12 Bionic chip, the Apple TV 4K 2022 has an A15 Bionic chip.

According to Apple, this chip is much faster than the A12 Bionic chip and basically provides faster switching between applications. This powerful chip enables your Apple TV to handle the latest games from Apple Arcade at the highest resolution. In short: a very powerful processor with which you can definitely move forward in the coming years.

2. (Much) more memory

The storage space in the Apple TV 4K 2022 is a big difference from the second generation. The second generation has a capacity of 32 GB only, and the third generation is 64 GB or 128 GB. A huge improvement, especially since the more expensive version is still cheaper than the second generation.

In addition, the new Apple TV is equipped with 4 GB of RAM, the second generation has 3 GB of RAM.

3. Support HDR10 + . content

Also a new addition is support HDR10 + . content. This is another standard for video images with more colors, just like Dolby Vision. The latter was already supported on earlier Apple TVs.

4. Siri Remote now with a USB-C connection

Apple stumbles on things and has already equipped Siri Remote with a file USB-c connection. This way you can be sure that you can still connect the remote control in a few years, because according to the European Union, all new electronic devices should have such a connection by 2024.

Do you often have to look for the remote control at home? Unfortunately, Apple has not yet put an end to this search: the new Siri Remote also does not have a “Find My” function.

5. Shipping? Purchase the cable separately

An important detail with the new USB-C port: The new Apple TV doesn’t come with a charging cable. To charge the Siri Remote, you must purchase a USB-C cable separately – if you don’t already have one at home. The charging cable can be purchased for 25 euros at the Apple Store.

6. New design: thinner and lighter

It may not be noticeable at first glance, but the design has also been modified. The third generation Apple TV 4K is lighter and thinner than the second generation. Apple was able to give the new Apple TV a more compact design by removing the fan. This is no longer necessary with the new A15 Bionic chip.

Another detail is the logo on the Apple TV. Apple chose to remove “TV,” so now only the Apple logo appears.
